as we were entering this new chapter in our lives, we were really curious how hannah and kaitlyn would take to the addition of their new baby sister and brother. with hannah being 5, she was a bit more predictable. we pretty much thought she would be a little mother and want to hold and feed. we were pretty much right on.
but kaitlyn not even being 2 we were a bit curious how she would take the change. much to our surprise, she has taken this all very well. i guess the epitome of it all, and i wish i had a picture, is when she sits down unexpectedly next to one of us and holds out her arms saying “me, me.” knowing that she wants to hold them is the cutest, but then you also have the desire to hold the bottle, or coming up to pat on the back for a burp, or letting us know that the baby is crying, or getting a paci when one is crying, or climbing on the bed to help change a diaper, or handing us wipes. she even knows where to point when you ask her where her brother or sister is. the list is endless and i love it!
you mean i still have one? only a month or so and it will have been 1 year since my last post. wow! and a lot, i mean A LOT has happened in that 11 months. of course, i didn’t have any readers before, but who could be reading this now besides spammers?
so what does A LOT consist of?
selling a house
buying a house
starting Hannah in soccer
Hannah’s first day of school
moving
remodeling and painting
finding out my wife is pregnant
changing positions at work
finding out my wife is pregnant with TWINS!
discovering one of my twins will carry the family name! (a boy!)
all kinds of fun sicknesses and ear infections
more soccer
rearranging the new house so that 4 kids will fit
selling my favorite truck my wife bought me
shopping for and buying a huge suburban to hold all the kids
repainting
swimming lessons
dana getting on facebook
soccer camp
awaiting the call from dana to take her to the hospital
i guess that’s just a few of the exciting things happening in 11 months.
now dana’s going to ask why i even bothered to post on the blog and why i didn’t put it in facebook. she wonders who has blogs anymore.
in more ways than one, but the new year i want to mention is the beginning of the 11th year with the love of my life. today we are celebrating our 10th anniversary.
it really has flown by and a lot has happened in those years. (i said this last year, but it’s worth repeating.) she is a great wife, mother, and friend.
i’ll also wish happy anniversary to those who share this day with us, too. congrats micah and stephanie (3 years?) and brent and karen (20 years!).
you may or may not know this, but my bro-in-law is really into evangelism, especially student evangelism. part of his recent project was just posted on youtube.com last week. it’s pretty funny and i recognize most if not all, which means i’m old school.
kaitlyn will be 8 days old today at noon. now that we’ve had her home for a week, the good news is that there is nothing huge to report. kaitlyn is eating and sleeping well, so in turn we are too!
hannah has been the best and shows no signs of jealousy. she wants to help at every turn and does a great job with everything. she doesn’t really want to let kaitlyn out of her sight.
mary jane (dana’s mom) left this morning to drive home, but yesterday we picked up julie and chase (dana’s sister and our nephew) for a visit. we’ve had lots of visitors and more are welcome!
