Go Astros!!!!
i’ll admit that i’m not much of a professional sports fan. (i sometimes think many are overpaid primadonnas, but that’s another discussion.)
i do follow some teams and some sports, but only marginally. when it comes to the post season, i perk up a little. AND i really perk up when a texas team is involved. so the fact that we now have a world series in texas is awesome.
i’ll be watching and rooting hard for the killer b’s. bzzzzzz

well, like many, i watched the astros/cards game on monday nite. i caught the last few innings and was cheering along with the rest of the crowd when they were up 4-2. the interesting thing was that they kept showing nolan ryan. did you notice that though he was obviously anticpating a win, he was not showing any premature emotion. you could almost tell that he knew it was not over until that last out.
sure enough, with only one out to go, up comes pujols. he hits that monster slam that gives the cards the lead. you could feel the air disappear. i say they should have walked him. what do you say? will they recover to take the series, or do they collapse?
go astros!

so we’re out walking this evening in our neighborhood. hannah’s in her stroller pointing out all the things she sees and we’re following behind. it’s really cute.near the end i faintly hear her sing something that sounds like God is so good”, so i chime in. she decides she wants to sing by herself, so she lets me know, “hannah sing it, please.” so, i let her.
i didn’t really even know she knew the song, but know it she does. she belted it out loudly, where she could be heard inside of houses. what’s more is that she sang all the verses! she’s amazing, and she’s witnessing at a young age!
a little further down the street, dana and i are conversing about something. i heard hannah ask “what’s on that door” two or three times, but i didn’t want to interrupt dana’s and my conversation. after the 5th time to ask, hannah belts out “WHAT’S ON THAT DOOR???” she was obviously frustrated with us b/c we didn’t answer her the other 5 times she asked. dana and i just looked at each other and just started laughing. we laughed all the way home, but only after we told hannah that it was a wreath of leaves on that door. she resumed singing and we tried to catch our breaths.
the thing that girl knows about letters, numbers, colors, animals, songs, etc. is just amazing to me. i know it’s because her mommy works with her, but it’s also b/c God made us into amazing creatures.
thank you God for reminding me daily in various ways how great you really are!

a picture roaming the internet has made its way to the blog. it seems, in typical aggie style, the aggies found a new way (only slightly effective) to protect themselves from the winds and rain of rita. click the picture for the enlarged version.
